Dear patients and friends of Summit View Dentistry: We hope you are all well. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and we have been inspired by the actions of so many businesses and individuals. We'd especially like to extend our sincere appreciation to our patients for being so understanding and supportive during this unusual time. While many things have changed, we remain committed to promoting and maintaining the health of our patients, staff, and community.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and we continue to follow recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). As a result of COVID-19, we have updated some of our daily procedures. Some changes may be temporary, others permanent, but all share the goal of keeping all of us as safe and healthy as possible.

  • For now, we will ask that only the patient being seen attend their appointment (with the obvious exception of underage minors attending with a parent or guardian).
  • Upon arrival for your appointment, we may ask you screening questions related to the symptoms of COVID-19, take your temperature, ask you to do a pre-procedural mouth rinse or use additional equipment that limits the generation of aerosol.
  • New patients will be encouraged to complete and return paperwork electronically to minimize physical contact.
  • Clinical staff will wear higher-level personal protective equipment, employ stricter interpersonal contact policies and will continue to extensively disinfect all areas of the office.
  • We politely ask that any patient experiencing fever or other cold/flu-like symptoms reschedule appointments for a later date. We request the same of those who have been in recent contact with COVID-19 positive individuals. Finally, we request that you notify us promptly if you develop symptoms or test positive within the week following your appointment.

We have reactivated our reminder system for those of you who have upcoming appointments. Please know we understand fully if you do not feel comfortable attending a dental appointment at this point in time; we only ask you give us early notice so we may accommodate other patients.

If there are any additional concerns that can be addressed, please reach out and let us know. Thank you so much for your support during these difficult times!
